Rehabilitation of Educational and Health Care Facilities in Tripoli, Lebanon

The project will adopt the building back better (BBB) approach, through promoting and disseminating the efficient use of energy and water resources, resilient rebuilding techniques, and promoting socio-economic equity and gender mainstreaming. The overall goal of the project is to urgently address increased socio-economic livelihood challenges and mitigate rising risks among urban host and refugee communities in Shalfeh, Tripoli. The scope of works shall include but not limited to: civil, architectural, mechanical, sanitary, electrical and landscaping works: i) Civil and Architectural Works: Rehabilitaiton of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene facilities including cement and sand plastering, installation/repair of doors and windows, painting, roof waterproofing, installation of wall and floor tiles, fixing sandwich panels (where needed), installation of false ceilings (where needed), removal of asbestos cement roofing with proper treatment, encapsulation and disposal in approved dump site, etc. ii) Sanitary/Plumbing Works: Rehabilitation and separation of the stormy and sewage water drainage systems, provision of watertanks, water heaters, kitchen sink, installation of washbasins and water closets, water connection to the public facilities, provision and installation of water filtration systems, etc. iii) Electrical Works: Rehabilitation of the electrical system including the installation of wiring, Single Distribution Boards (SDB) and Main Distribution Boards (MDB), sockets, switches, and lighting, provisions for renewable energy (solar system including all related components such as panels, batteries, inverters, control panel boards, supporting structure, earthing), etc.; • Conduct training to designated beneficiaries on the use, operation and maintenance of installed solar PV system, or any other service..
