Research Firm/Institution to Conduct a Study in Selected Villages across Three Districts of Punjab, Focusing on the Impact of Covid-19 on Education. The Study will Involve Six Primary Tasks: 1) Designing and Piloting Various Instruments including Psychometric Tests, School Listing Surveys, Teacher Surveys, and Covid Village-Level Impact Surveys; 2) Listing Approximately 850 Schools, Documenting Closures and Mergers, and Conducting Gender Comparisons of Post-Covid Learning Outcomes; 3) Testing Primary Students in Round 1, Comparing Learning Outcomes across Various Groups, and Exploring the Impact of Schooling Disruptions on Student Well-Being; 4) Conducting Teacher and School Owner Surveys to Assess Economic Losses in Households and Schools, and Examining Potential Teacher Workforce Changes; 5) Conducting a Second Round of Student Testing and Surveys to Measure Post-Summer Learning Losses and the Subsequent Impact on Student Well-Being; And 6) Carrying out a Covid-19 Village Survey to Determine the Extent of Health and Economic Shocks at the Village Level. The Research Institution must have (I) Evidence of Previous Research Published in Top Journals and (Ii) the Availability of Databases Pre-Pandemic (No Retrospective Data Collection is Requested as it has been Shown that Contains Substantial Degrees of Measurement Error) that Allow the Analysis of the Impacts of Covid-19 on Learning the Public-Private Market for Education, and Other Socio-Economic Impacts of the Pandemic on Variables that have Already been Measured before the Pandemic.
