The tender was published by WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION WHO on 14 Sep 2021 for Request for proposals are invited for Network Analysis in the Field of Population AgingDeadline 28-Sep-2021 2359 GMT 800 Beijing Perth Singapore Hong KongThe Western Pacific Region WPR has one of the largest and fastest growing older population in the world To well prepare for the ageing society the WHO Western Pacific Regional Committee adopted the Regional Action Plan on Healthy Ageing RAP in October 2020 It aims to support all Member States in WPR to achieve the vision for Healthy Ageing as outlined in the RAP RAP contains five objectives and various activities are being carried out in line with each objective to better prepare Member States for the coming ageingThe term ageing covers a wide range of topics and there are many different researchers in the field of ageing However the overall picture is not yet clear enough In order to further promote activities in the field of ageing in the WPRO region it would be beneficial to have an overview of researchers thoughtopinion leaders think tanks and governmentnon-government organizations conducting research activities in each field of agingWith the background above we would like to seek applications from the organizationindividuals that can conduct network analysis in the field of ageing research especially in WPR PURPOSESPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITYUnder the direct supervision of the AGE team in WHO WPRO the work aims to conduct network analysis in the field of ageing Preferably the analysis will be done based on each five objectives outlined in RAP Five objectives are as belowTransforming societies as a whole to promote healthy ageing based on understanding the implications of population ageingTransforming health systems to address each individuals lifelong health needs by providing necessary health and non-health services in a coordinated wayProviding community-based integrated care for older adults tailored to individual needsFostering technological and social innovation to promote healthy ageingStrengthening monitoring and surveillance systems and research on older adults to inform programmes services and policies DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUTWith technical support from AGE team in WHO WPROOutput 1 Conduct network analysis in the field of population ageing from available resources Conduct network analysis in line with the five objectives outlined in the RAPOutput 2 Develop key insights summaries Interim presentation and the report on the network analysis by 31st October 2021 Final report to WHO by 30th November 2021 METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITYReview available resources eg peer-reviewed publications government official reports and in line with five objectives in RAP conduct network analysis QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCEEDUCATION A contracting individual or institution should have the qualification andor experience in medicine public health health science or a related field EXPERIENCE Research experience on network analysis especially in the field of population aging Preferably having knowledge and working experience in the Western Pacific Region Experience working with public and private sectors andor international organizations is an asset TECHNICAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in public health practice network analysis and population ageing is essential LANGUAGE Excellent writing and spoken skills in English is essential APPLICATIONSQualified and interested specialists should submit their CV for individual contractors or Company Profile for institutional applications cost proposal and cover letter to the Supply Officer through WP RO UNGM at wproungmwhoint by 28 September 2021The cover letter should outline how their experience and qualifications make them a suitable candidate for this position and should include their proposed fee and availabilityPlease use Tender Notice No 144696 as subject to all submission Only successful candidates will be contacted.
