Those negative factors affect in general all workers and especially women in the above mentioned sector. Basically, achieving decent work would require upholding workers ‘rights but also to improve working condition, most probably to provide a sufficiently high minimum wage. The status quo needs to be assessed to effect sector-wide change. For these reasons, FES Rwanda in collaboration with COTRAF Rwanda under the EU funded project entitled “Social Dialogue 4 Sustainable Development (SD4SD): Promoting effective social dialogue, strengthening social protection, and enforcing the national and international labor standards in Rwanda” commissioned studies on labor condition in education and the findings are used to engage in constructive dialogue with decision makers.
