Tender Description:

1. United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) seeks Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably-qualified companies with required expertise and experience to provide Pest and Vector Control and Ground Maintenance Services for the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), headquartered in Mogadishu, and African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), located in Baledogle, Dhobley, Baidoa, Beletweyne, Jowhar, Kisamayo and Dhusamareb (upcoming); all within Somalia. 2. For clarity, a vector is a living organism that transmits an infectious agent from an infected animal to a human or another animal. Vectors are frequently arthropods, such as mosquitoes, ticks, flies, fleas and lice. The main requirements for these services will comprise: A. Pest and Vector Control Services at UNSOS and ATMIS compounds: i. Surveys: The Contractor shall perform surveys of all UNSOS and ATMIS locations and develop a schedule for Pest and Vector Control (PVC) Services for each area of operation. The schedule will be finalized and implemented after agreement by both parties. ii. Regular/routine provision of Pest and Vector Control services. iii. Provision of On-call Pest and Vector Control Services: The Contractor shall provide urgent PVC services in the event of unforeseen situations that require immediate attention. iv. Provision of Trap, Neuter and Release Services (TNR) (cats and dogs). v. On-call disinfection of required areas, vehicles, aircraft and baggage (all possible contact areas). vi. Animal feeding program (cats and dogs). B. Ground maintenance (Landscaping) of UNSOS and ATMIS compounds; 3. Provision of oversight on all activities related to implementation of services in each operational location including complete staffing of personnel (management, supervisory, technical, skilled labour, administration and support staff and the like) required to undertake functions/tasks under the Scope of Requirements (SOR). 4. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, vehicles, supervision, and other items necessary to ensure that the above services are delivered in an efficient and timely manner and in line with international standards for service delivery and safety. 5. The detailed scope of requirements, including the technical specifications, quantities and expected delivery dates will be provided within the UN's Request for Proposal (RFP), which will be sent out to all qualified vendors responding to this Expression of Interest (EOI). No further detail can be made available prior to the issuance of the RFP solicitation.
