ADEQUACY OF O CORGO SQUARE AS A CLIMATE SHELTER AND PETFRIENDLY The objective is to transform it into an urban climate shelter a pet-friendly space and a multipurpose hard plaza for events aligned with the guidelines of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination PSTD O Grove A Gastromeca The entire plaza 8 486 13 m integrating the events area and creating elements of fluid connection With this action the comprehensive transformation of O Corgo Square will be carried out to turn it into a quality sustainable accessible and inclusive public space which meets the following strategic objectives Create an Urban Climate Shelter The northern area of the square will be designed as a space that mitigates the effects of climate change through the creation of extensive green areas tall trees an organic pergola and sustainable drainage systems A reduction in surface temperature of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius is estimated Generate a Multipurpose Hard Plaza The central and southern area will be equipped with resistant pavements concrete and granite to host large events such as the Seafood Festival and serve as a space for neighborhood coexistence Articulate the Space through an Undulating Hinge As a transition element between the climatic shelter and the hard plaza a design of folds will be executed in the pavement like waves allegory of the sea that will integrate a system of interactive water games jets at ground level Create an Amphitheater On the eastern edge next to the skatepark a small amphitheater with stands will be built for cultural revitalization and intergenerational integration Establish a PetFriendly Space The plaza will be accessible and welcoming for people accompanied by pets with specific elements such as two-level fountains and dispensers Improve Universal Accessibility All existing architectural barriers will be eliminated - 12412883
