The Consortium of Hospitality Schools of the Balearic Islands in Spain from Europe region has released this tender for The kitchens currently installed at the Balearic Islands Hospitality School were put into operation in 1994 and after more than thirty years of service have become technically and functionally obsolete In many cases the existing equipment lacks original spare parts which hinders maintenance and repairs and increases associated costs Furthermore their gas and electricity consumption is significantly higher than current energy efficiency standards with a consequent negative impact on both operating costs and the conditions under which training is provided Given this situation it is considered necessary to renovate the facilities of the Balearic Islands Hospitality School and carry out a complete renewal of its kitchen equipment This will ensure suitable facilities for students practical training maintain the center s high standards of educational excellence and better adapt the curriculum to the current demands of the hospitality sector This project will also improve the energy efficiency of the facilities and reduce operating costs The execution of the renovation works for the facilities was put out to tender under contract file EC 02 2026 This contract covers the supply installation and commissioning of the necessary kitchen equipment in accordance with the technical specifications defined in the Technical Specifications in order to complete the modernization process of the facilities at the Balearic Islands Hospitality School in Palma The contract is structured into several lots as established in the contract documentation It should be noted that the supply of kitchen equipment and furniture was subject to two separate tendering procedures processed under files EC 04 2026 and EC 11 2026 Both procedures were declared void after it was found that none of the submitted bids met the minimum technical requirements established in the Technical Specifications Consequently it is necessary to promote a new procurement procedure that adequately satisfies the described need and guarantees the availability of the equipment necessary for the proper development of the training activity of the Balearic Islands Hospitality School with tender notice no. 664825-2026 published on 07 Oct 2026.
