These systems constrain the lives of everyone, including men and boys. Further, protection needs are widespread throughout Syria and are driven by the cumulative long-term consequences of active hostilities, displacements and worsening economy. The recent earthquake has exacerbated inadequate living conditions which, together with the loss of livelihood opportunities has enhanced protection risks, inequalities and intensified the nature of power dynamics in households and communities..
