The UN Secretariat in Thailand from Asian region had released this tender for Description of requirements 1. Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV): by PHEV, ESCAP means vehicles that have a much bigger battery, an electric motor, a gasoline tank, and an internal combustion engine and are powered partially by electricity from a battery that requires recharging from and external source and powered partially by diesel/petrol that requires refueling. iii. Hybrid: by Hybrid, ESCAP means vehicles that have a smaller battery which cannot be plugged in to charge to an external source but instead, is charged and powered through regenerative braking and by the internal combustion engine. iv. Traditional diesel/petrol: by traditional diesel/petrol, ESCAP means vehicles with internal combustion engine designed to run on diesel/petrol. b. Vehicle type: i. Sedan: by Sedan, the ESCAP means a medium sized passenger car that can be used for transportation of up to three/four passengers plus driver in 2 rows of seats, with 4 side doors (2 on each side for passenger access) and a cargo area. ii. Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV): by SUV, the ESCAP means a medium sized vehicle that has a combination of elements of a passenger car and an off-road vehicle such as a four-wheel drive and high ground clearance and has a spacious interior and flexible cargo capacity. iii. Passenger Van: By Passenger Van, the ESCAP means a vehicle designed to transport about 8 to 10 passengers plus driver in 3 rows of seats, with 4 side doors (2 on each side for passenger access) and a cargo area. 3. EOI respondents should be able to provide ANY or ALL the vehicle categories listed above. 4. The ESCAP expects the successful vendor to supply brand new vehicle(s) mentioned above, including after-sales support services (e.g., spare parts, warranty, tools, training, etc.) throughout the whole life cycle of the equipment, estimated to be 5 years. 5. Please note that this Request for Expression of Interest is not for refurbished vehicles. 6.
