The INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION’S in USA from Americas region had released this tender for Expression of Interest are invited for Healthcare Facilities Standards – Hospitals; PPP unit; IFC The International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) PPP Transaction Advisory team is involved in several hospital PPP projects across a number of Emerging Market (EM) countries. One feature that these projects have in common; is that they are structured along the lines of a UK style PFI project or hospital facility PPP; where the private sector will design; construct; finance; equip and maintain the new hospital; while the public sector will continue to deliver clinical services.In many of these EM countries; construction guidelines/standards for new hospital facilities are outdated or standards for new hospitals do not exist; which makes crafting PPP style output specifications; room data sheets (RDS); schedules of accommodation and other supporting documentation difficult to prepare. 2. Consulting SupportIFC is seeking to hire a specialist firm (healthcare planners/architects/hospital technical specialists) (the “Consultant”); to assist with the development of a suite of documentation that can be used in a standardised way across some or all of these countries. IFC would like to explore how much can be standardised; whilst allowing for a degree of local customisation where needed.The Consultant shall review a set of hospital design and construction standards and to propose how international hospital design standards can be adapted to EM countries; without resulting in an overly expensive solution. Simply imposing UK; US or other such standards without adjustment; may not be appropriate.This work is done in relation to the preparation of hospital PPPs: the intention is therefore to develop output specifications where the public authority determines functionalities and expectations but does not prescribe a detailed design.
